At their 20th high school reunion, Peter and Kari, high school sweethearts are reunited after decades apart. Despite the years apart and changes in their own separate lives, while reminiscing about their high school days, and figuring out where they’re at now. The Narrator and the multiple high school classmates he plays, interweaves the complexities of time, life, and the universe itself. Played in proscenium for act one, until the point in which everything changes, and the set opens to reveal a bank of audience risers changing to an alley seating configuration. An invitation to the audience to get closer to what is a more intimate act, while gaining a new perspective on the universe of the play.

For this design, I wanted to create this somewhat ethereal space where these memories could take place, infused with soem architectural elements. However, at the end of Act I, when the, "universe is ruined forever" the set split in two and a curtain upstage was peeled away to reveal a second bank of audience seating, transforming the space from proscenium in act I to alley seating in act II.
