Les Innocents

The death of Gui’s lover, Mathilde, has sent them down into the catacombs of Paris in hopes of reconnecting their souls. The labyrinth that lies beneath Paris holds more than just the bones of the dead. Drawn to the warmth of Gui’s candle, the ghosts try to help Gui find Mathilde, all while trying to make sense of their own existence in life, death, love and loneliness.

For Les Innocents, audiences were led thru the halls and then the theatre proper. We drew inspiration from the actual Paris Catacombs created organic shadows and multiple entrance for actors to appear and disappear from. Another imporant factor was that this venue was a shared space, so the set had to be easily put up and struck.
